Easy Christmas DIY ideas. Remembering hands, feet & paws.

We thought we’d do this cute little DIY before Christmas because we really wanted to remember every little bit of Jordan’s first Christmas. I LOVE little feet. Those little feet are so precious and are going to take my little boy to big places. Those little feet just grow and grow and I have to remember how small and new they once were.

We made Christmas tree decorations out of these, something small for Jordan to remember his first Christmas. I hope to craft a little decoration with him each year, that he can call his own and that he can hang on the tree to remember that particular year. We’ll make a thing of it.

Happy 5 months my boy!

I literally just realized that it’s the 21st. This means Jordan is a whole 5 months old today. WHERE did the time go? Every one told me it would fly, but this is somewhat crazy. It feels like yesterday that we met our little bundle, and here we are, five whole months in. What a ride it’s been, so far.

Jordan. My precious boy. Mommy loves you more than I could ever explain to you. Your smiley face has been in our lives for five months and I cannot imagine life any other way. You are handsome and healthy. You are smiley, you’re very needy but you are full of giggles. You love Banjoe SO much and I am so thankful that you two get on like a house on fire. Banjoe lets you stick your hands in his mouth and grab onto his fur. He just sits very still and takes it, he knows that you’re little and that you mean no harm. I cannot wait to see you run and play together. You are so aware and I love watching you take everything in as your learn more and more each day.

Fresh baby food. Jordan’s first solids & how to make your own baby food.

I have started Jordan on solid food. I can’t believe this day has already come. He is only 4.5 months old so I am starting earlier than I expected to. It’s not recommend to start babies on solids before the age of 4 months as their digestive systems can’t cope as well. I started with solids as Jordan was quite a bad sleeper and woke up a few times at night and he also had trouble with, erm, poo-ing. Fruit has helped this a great deal.

Our festive season & Jordan’s first Christmas, 2013.

Yes this is way overdue, and yes I am a mother to a 4 month old so yes, you will forgive me. Okay cool. So.. we had such a wonderful Christmas this year, we got to see *everyone*. And by everyone I mean my entire family that came all the way from Egypt to visit. We hosted Christmas eve and Christmas day at ours. Now I know what you’re thinking and yes, it was a wee bit stressful making sure all the dishes were clean after Christmas eve, having to set two Christmas tables one after the other, but it was so lovely to be at home, our home, for Jordan’s first Christmas.

Fancy Pants reusable nappies. Doing good things for our planet.. and budget.

Before having Jordan I was all ‘There is NO WAY that I am using washable nappies! WHO in their right mind would ever do that to themselves if they have the option of the mighty disposable’. I was dead against it. After seeing how many nappies we go through in a day, week or month, I have quite seriously changed my mind.

There are SO many options, and after looking into all the different brands, Fancy Pants appealed to me the most. They come is such a wide range of colours to match every outfit, and they’re so cute that Jordan isn’t even wearing pants today!
