Beau Joubert: Food, wine & manual labour.

On Saturday we spent a beautiful day at Beau Joubert wine farm in Stellenbosch. We were invited to by the team at Beau Joubert to learn all about what goes into the wonderful process of wine making, from picking the grapes to sipping a delicious glass over an alfresco lunch. Jordan spent the day with his Nanna, so Nic and I got to spend the day together for the first time in a while. It was so lovely and I realised how important it is to have ‘us time’ a little more often.

Happy 7 months darling boy x

Jordan, my boy. You are now a whole seven months old and I just can’t believe it. Mommy and daddy are blown away every day by you. There is so much I want to tell you.

You are SUCH a beautiful little handsome funny boy filled with so much joy. We don’t even need to do anything to get a big beaming gummy smile from you. Such a beautiful character is developing in you. The first photo in the post sums up YOU and everything you are about these days. You are so much fun to be around and your giggles fill our little house with so much love, fun and childishness. You have brought so much fun and silliness into our lives, in the best possible way. From dancing around the kitchen to all the funny noises we make, including animal sounds. Your laughter comes from deep inside your belly, it is so contagious.. Mommy and daddy have never laughed this much. You are already so goofy and have developed another smile.. it’s a cute little grandpa smile and we just LOVE it.

Baby boys nautical bedroom. Jordan’s special room x

This post is *way* over due and this room was finished before Jordan was born but in all fairness, when Jordan is awake we are busy with him and when he’s asleep, he’s in his room. It’s been a challenge finding the right time to take these pictures but they’re finally done!

Nic and myself love boats and everything about the beautiful ocean. I can be quite traditional so the decision on a blue nautical room was an obvious one for me. We wanted a calm, quiet and relaxed space for Jordan, a place that wasn’t overwhelming but rather simple and quiet in its decor and approach. It was SUCH a blast to make over this room, we had so much fun. My darling friend Melissa came over for tea and we brainstormed ideas, I just LOVE having an interior designer for a friend. Thank you my lovely Mel for all your amazing ideas and your encouragement! Check out Melissa’s blog here.

Exciting news & a huge leap of faith.

So.. I have some very exciting news. News that I haven’t been able to share until now. I have RESIGNED from my full-time position and I’m hopping on the freelance train as of March 20th!!

This is a HUGE step for me as I am all about structure, safety and knowing what to expect at the end of the month. Although I am a ‘creative’ I am a very ‘safe’ person as not many creative people I know are. Creative people (in general) like to take risks which I think is such a GREAT thing as if you never try you’ll never know, right? All within reason though, of course. For the first time I have made a decision on a gut feeling and I am letting go. For the sake of my family and my happiness. Sometimes you have to trust your instincts and have a little (or a lot) of faith.
