GIRLS, I got a spray tan!!

GIRLS! I got my first spray tan the other day. GO ME! My winter skin is pretty much see-through white at the moment (virtually purple). I helped Nadia Turton from Label Collections out with a shoot for their maternity range on Sunday so I simply NEEDED a bit of bronzing, more on the shoot later.

I simply googled “spray tan in cape town” and I came across Glow. Their prices are fantastic and they have before and after pictures on their website – HUGE brownie points for that Glow, I loved being able to see what I’m going to get without any nasty surprises. The *last* thing I wanted was to walk out there looking like an orange, so being able to see results before I even went was just fab. Tamryn, founder of Glow has a wonderful thing going. She works from home in Kenilworth, but she also offers mobile services, so you can have your tan done at home. How cool? Tamryn uses a simple fold up tent which you stand in while she sprays, which I imagine takes all of 30 seconds to erect.

Tamryn was so lovely, she made me feel very comfortable while I stood there in my panties and bra exposing my big pasty pregnant body. SO attractive. Tamryn heated the room beautifully before my arrival so that I didn’t get cold and talked me through the whole process. She even contacted her suppliers before the time and did all the research as to whether or not the spray tan is pregnancy friendly. The outcome was that it *is* pregnancy friendly, but not recommended in the first trimester – a long with pretty much everything else in the world. Tamryn asked if I wanted a light, medium or dark tan and suggested medium for my skin type. We went with that. I am SO happy with it. It looks so natural – I look healthy and glowing, as a pregnant woman should. I am proud to say that I am not orange at all. The whole tanning process took about 5 minutes and I was out of there. How lekker is my tan? Look at me, look at meeee.

Thanks so much to Tamryn and Glow for the awesome experience. I will *definitely* be back. If you go to Tamryn’s studio, the tan will cost you R150 in total (I KNOW!!). If you’d prefer for Glow to come to you, it will cost you R250 – seriously not bad at all. Glow also offer group tanning discounts, bridal make up and make up lessons.

Glow are also offering a winter special: Get a spray tan AND makeup application for only R400! * Please note that this combo is only available at Glow and the spray tan will have to be applied 2 to 3 days before the make up application. Should you wish to use it as a mobile service please email for pricing.
