Teaming up with Food Lovers Market, I have been thinking a lot about some of my favourite and most importantly, easy and healthy recipes that I want to share with you. I get most of my fresh ingredients from Food Lovers Market as their specials and variety are out of this world. My Moms lifelong friend Jan, sent me this recipe all the way from Australia and I make it so often that I really wanted to share the recipe with you because I know you will ALL love it.
It’s the most chocolatey, most filling, most delicious smoothie / dessert you’ve ever tasted. You would never say so from the ingredient list but I beg you to just give it a try. The avo makes it creamy, the oats make it filling and the chocolate / peanut buttery flavour is just the perfect combo.
There are no nasties in it, but rather a whole lot of filling goodness. And because it’s cold, it’s pretty refreshing too. Also – Jordan absolutely loves it, and Micah too! It’s so healthy that even they can have it and they think they’re having a choccie milkshake. Bonus.
1/2 an Avocado
6 blocks of ice
2 teaspoon cocoa powder (I used one that isn’t very strong so if using a more concentrated powder, start with one tablespoon)
3 large medjool dates ( or 6 regular dates)
100ml milk – I use almond or soy milk but regular is fine if you drink it
1 tbsp rolled oats
Tablespoon of peanut butter
